Short Term Immersion
Our Short Term Immersion program allows students to immerse themselves in American life for a choice of 1 or 2 full months. This will include going to school alongside American students, studying the same curriculum as American students, and living with an American family. We highly recommend this program to students who are already studying English and would like an opportunity to put their language skills to the test while learning more about life in America.
Program Details
- Room and board with an American family
- 15 hours per week of English, American History, Science, and Math
- Half day activities weekly - sports and culturally oriented
- Two full day excursions monthly, including entrance fees
- Welcome and farewell parties
- Airport transfer to/ from nearest airport
- Accident and medical insurance
- Invitation letter for the tourist visa (if required)
Requirements
- Be between 11 and 15
- Possess intermediate English skills (minimum two years of English study)
- Display a genuine interest in English language and American culture
- Be willing to adapt to the life of the American host family
- Agree to accept the family assigned to them by GCI
- Sign and abide by the GCI Conditions of Participation on the application form
